The Lab places film education among its priorities, as a practice that joins screening, research and community.

Cinema in Libya and the Maghreb carries layers of memory: cinema theaters, audiences, distribution and personal experience. This section makes room to read those layers in depth, without simplifying them.

In the Academy we care about questions such as: how do we read a film? How do we tie it to its context? And how do we keep the audience’s experience from turning into passing consumption?

We are building documented content, programs and workshops step by step. Registration is not open yet.
